Cliff Mountain, artist Cliff brings wonder and humor into his creativity. There is something soulful in watching his sculptures interact with nature. And yet quite hilarious too. He also loves the abstract and uncommon. He is known to shun the “normal.” In fact, one of his favorite sayings when leaving is “Keep it weird!” He has a unique view of the world and an eye for beauty and a great imagination. His “paying” job is a machinist which lends to his appreciation of metal. His hobbies include cooking and knife throwing.
Why rust? Rust is a natural protector of steel. It is the result of contact between oxygen and the steel making iron oxide. But once the oxide (rust) is in place oxygen can no longer reach the steel. Thus protecting it from further oxidation. Think of it as nature’s paint.
